Websites

A website is the one thing a customer checks before deciding whether to call you. We build sites that load fast, read well on a phone, and say what a visitor needs to know before they ring.

In short

The direct answer, first, in one paragraph a person or an assistant can lift whole.

Last reviewed 12 August 2026

AKAA Evolution builds marketing websites for small Australian businesses from Brisbane. A typical site is four to six pages, takes two to four weeks from the day content is agreed, is quoted at a fixed price before work starts, and is handed over with you owning the domain, the hosting account and the content.

What you get

Pages designed around a task

Every page has one thing a visitor is trying to do. We work out what that is before anyone opens a design tool.

Written copy, not lorem ipsum

We draft the words with you. Most small business sites fail on copy long before they fail on design.

Fast by construction

Static pages, no heavy framework, images sized properly. Speed is a build decision, not a plugin you add later.

Found by search and by AI

Correct headings, structured data, accurate business details. Both Google and the assistants people now ask can read you properly.

Accessible as standard

Real contrast, keyboard navigation, labelled forms. It is the law for some of your customers and simply better for the rest.

Easy to change

A walkthrough at handover and plain content files underneath, so a price change does not need a developer.

How we price it

A fixed number, agreed before we start.

Fixed price, agreed in writing before you commit. Half to start, half at launch.

Questions about Websites

Answers written to be read by a person and quoted correctly by an assistant. Every one is in the page source.

How long does a small business website take?

Two to four weeks for most small business sites, measured from the day content is agreed rather than the day you sign. Larger builds with bookings or client portals run longer, and we tell you which one you have before you commit.

Do I need to write the content myself?

No. We draft it with you from a conversation and you edit. If you would rather write it yourself, that is fine and it shortens the timeline.

What platform do you build on?

Plain, fast web pages generated by a static site builder, hosted on Cloudflare. No WordPress, no page builder, no monthly licence. The result loads quickly and cannot be broken by a plugin update.

Can I update the website myself after launch?

Yes. Text and prices live in simple content files, and we walk you through changing them at handover. Most clients still send us the bigger changes, which is what the monthly plan is for.

What does a small business website cost?

We quote one fixed number against a written scope, after a twenty-minute call. It only moves if you add something. We do not publish a price list because a one-page site for a sole trader and a booking site for two businesses are not the same job.

The detail

The longer answer, including the work we turn down. Better read before you commit than after.

What you actually get

Code, domain and hosting in your name from day one. A site of the size we agreed, written with you, built to load quickly and to be changed without a developer. A walkthrough at handover so you can make small edits yourself.

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks for most small business sites, counted from the day the content is agreed rather than the day you sign. Builds with bookings, client logins or several sites sharing one system run longer, and we say which one you have before you commit.

How the money works

Scoped on the first call — twenty minutes is usually enough to know the size of the job. Fixed before you commit: one number, in writing, against a written scope. Paid in two parts, half to start and half at launch. Statements of Work name the version of our Standard Terms they use.

What we do not build

We do not build online stores, membership platforms, or custom software. If that is what you need we will say so on the first call and point you at someone who does it properly. We would rather lose the job than take it badly.

Not sure which one you need?

That is the normal starting point. Twenty minutes on a call is usually enough to work out what would actually help, and we will say so if the answer is nothing.
